Lath and plaster: |
A traditional finish for an internal wall or ceiling, comprising timber laths fixed across timber studs or joists as a base for plasterwork. |
Lintel: |
A beam over a door or window opening, supporting the structure above. |
Lintel: |
A structural beam of stone, concrete or timber located above a door or window opening, supporting the masonry above. |
Load bearing wall: |
A wall which supports another structure directly above, such as a floor, a beam or a partition wall on an upper storey. |
