Nick Lever
Senior Partner

Nick is the Senior Partner and is a specialist in valuation matters, with over 25 years experience in the north-east property market. He has lectured in his specialist field and is regularly called upon by local and national law firms to act as expert witness, particularly in matters relating to residential values.

Nick studied at Newcastle Polytechnic, graduating with a degree in general practice surveying in 1981. He gained his initial surveying experience with local practices, and was elected to the Profession in 1983.

He has managed the practice during its continuing development, which has included extensive investment in IT and Quality Management.

Nick is responsible for residential and commercial valuations, including for the purpose of loan security, investment, matrimonial, probate, taxation and disputes.

 
Graham Caffull
Partner

Graham has practiced in the north-east throughout his career, having first obtained a degree in architectural studies at Newcastle University. He qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1985 and, after gaining experience with various local surveying practices he joined Wakefields in 1988, becoming a partner in 1990.

Having gradually expanded the scope of building surveying work undertaken by the practice, Graham has developed expertise in some particular areas of work, including dilapidations, party wall matters and construction related legal disputes. He regularly undertakes building surveys on a wide range of property types, ranging from dwellings, churches and public houses, through to larger scale industrial and commercial premises.

Graham is currently the partner responsible for commercial building surveying work and construction related disputes.

 
Mark Watson
Partner

Mark studied at the university of Northumbria, graduating in 1994 with an honours degree in building surveying. After a fixed contract within the estates department of a local hospital trust, he gained extensive experience across a range of traditional surveying services within a national facilities management company. Mark qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1998. He joined Wakefields in 2001 and became a Partner of the practice in 2007.

Primarily involved in Residential and Commercial building surveys, defect analysis and monitoring, Mark is also competent in contract administration of both commercial and residential projects, in addition to the implementation and updating of planned maintenance schedules for both individual buildings and larger property portfolios.

Mark currently has responsibility for coordinating residential surveys and planned maintenance within the practice.

 
Andrew Lorimer

Andrew obtained an honours degree in Information Management from Queen Margaret University College in Edinburgh in 2000 and went on to become a Senior Business Analyst before deciding upon a career change to Building Surveying. He has subsequently obtained a Postgraduate Diploma, with Merit, in Building Surveying via distance learning from the College of Estate Management in Reading and is working towards his final assessment to become a Chartered member of the RICS.

Since joining Wakefields in 2005, Andrew has been primarily involved in contract administration, measured surveys, design and specification of extension; new build and refurbishment of commercial and residential properties. He continues to expand his involvement within the company and is becoming increasingly involved with planned maintenance schedules, building surveys and defect analysis.

Andrew is currently responsible for managing measured surveys and commercial and residential projects within the practice.
